Frank Hobbs Elementary School is situated in a park-like setting, with a preschool on our shared field and the University of Victoria nearby. Our school is located within the traditional territories of the Esquimalt and Songhees Nations, where we live, learn, and work. We are committed to creating a culturally responsive learning environment that meets the diverse needs and learning styles of each child, values positive relationships and diversity, and supports students in realizing their full potential. We proudly offer an inclusive K-5 model that emphasizes a balanced approach to academics, fine arts, and athletics.
Our school is supported by a dedicated Parent Advisory Council (PAC) and many enthusiastic parent volunteers who assist classroom teachers with a variety of activities, both inside and outside the classroom. The Frank Hobbs PAC fosters a close-knit school community through numerous engagement opportunities.
Frank Hobbs Elementary has established a strong partnership with the Faculty of Education at the University of Victoria and Camosun College. Each year, we welcome short- and long-term pre-service teachers and educational assistants, who bring fresh perspectives and valuable learning opportunities to several of our classrooms.
Our school provides a balanced academic and arts program within a positive and enthusiastic learning environment. Classroom doors are always open, and parents are encouraged to actively participate in their children’s educational journeys.
